About the Author

Dr Sahnaz Tigrek is Assistant Professor at the Hydromechanics Laboratory of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. She has received her MSc from the same institute and was awarded her Phd degree for her work in Civil Engineering at the Coastal Engineering Laboratory of Tokyo University, Japan. She worked previously as an engineer in the Ocean and River Engineering Consulting Company in Japan. Her research interests are Computational Fluid Mechanics, Numerical Modeling of Turbulent Flow, Boundary Layer Flow, Flow Measurements in Open Channels, Sedimentation, Reservoir Sustainability in Water Resources Projects, Design of Diffusers.

Tuce Aras is currently working at EKON Industry Construction & Trade Inc. as a proposal engineer. She received her MSc degree in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, where studied reservoir sediment management with Dr. Sahnaz Tigrek.

This edition is very VERY similar to the 2015 edition. There is a different problem on pg 52, problem 1.8 and the beginning of section 13.1 has been updated but goes back to the 2015 edition's text at the paragraph on page 354 which starts with, "Most domestic RP machines..." Other than that, the books are almost identical.Besides details that encompass updated UI of solidworks 2016, the tutorials are the same. If you want to save a little extra money, you should be fine buying the 2015 version. I don't usually leave reviews, but I thought this could help out a few of you who are hoping someone could confirm this for you!!!

I am a student and had to pick this book up for a class. This book is effective at teaching you the basics of SolidWorks, hence the 'intro', but I found that overall it had some confusing aspects even. The book at times cranks the difficulty up from one to one-hundred, leaving you puzzled. Examples of this will be teaching you these tools to totally mess up your design, then having you revert it but only telling you to do so in the middle of a giant paragraph. There are so many intricacies involved in creating the final product step-by-step their way. I ended up learning more tinkering with the program due to the fact that the SolidWorks suite they show in the book is slightly different than the suite provided by the educational license. It's a good book for reference if I ever have to look back on certain aspects, like using some of the more difficult tools, but for the basics it might be worth looking at some tutorial videos rather than dropping a benjamin.

I like this book. It is easy to read and understand. The instructions are clear for beginners (and novice) who want to learn SolidWorks. I use this book now as a reference guide at work.

Before joining the University of Virginia, Dr. Garber was a Professor of Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sierra Leone, where he was also the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. At the State University of New York at Buffalo, he played an important role in the development of the graduate program in Transportation Engineering. For several years, he was a design engineer for consulting engineering firms in London, and also worked as an Area Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer in Sierra Leone.Dr. Adel Sadek is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the Universty of Vermont, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Computer Science. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of Transportation Systems Modeling and Simulation, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Computational Intelligence Applications, and Transportation Planning and Infrastructure Management. He has extensive research experience in the application of computer simulation to transportation systems modeling and analysis. Dr. Sadek is the recepient of the 1998 Milton Pilarsky Award for the best dissertation in the field of Transportation Science and Technology and is also a member of the Advanced Technologies Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Its backdrop is a tributary, previously unexplored by Westerners, of the Amazon. It has everything a reader would want: the mysteries and terror of the jungle, the incredible and deadly complexity of the river, the inept preparations for the adventure, the wild and unknown Indians of the region, needless deaths, murder, history, and the bigger-than-life story of the aging Teddy, his son, Kermit, and the rest of the exploration party.I enjoyed it totally. Millard's Churchill book was good, but it suffered from often static setting, mostly in a Boer prison. This book has a built-in momentum, as the ill-prepared group make their way down the river into the unknown. It is the perfect story for Candice Millard, and she tells it perfectly.

I heard Candice Millard on a John Grishham book tour podcast and was intrigued by her background and the meticulous research behind her books. (My gosh, the one she DIDN'T write about Ben Franklin - and why - says worlds about the authenticity this author brings to the table!)This tale of Roosevelt's ill-conceived and ill-fated expedition through the Amazon reads almost as much like a novel as a documentary. I particularly enjoyed the insights into Roosevelt's personality - his earliest motivations and his rigorous discipline to refuse the hand early life dealt him. The same could be said of Captain Rondon, the Brazilian lead on the trip.The science and history lessons are so integral to the story (or the story is so inherent in the science and history) that you'll likely find yourself smarter and wiser and more emotionally attuned to both nature and human nature for having read this book.

What a wonderful book!! Having read previous biographies of "Teedy" I came to this book with an already favorable image of this man who overcame severe asthma in childhood and, indeed, met all obstacles with a sense of perseverance and a firm belief that one must grasp life with both hands and always do the best with the gifts we are given. While this book shows more of his vulnerability, both physically and emotionally, it did nothing to diminish my admiration of this wonderful man. What a National Treasure!!Now I come to the author, Candice Millard. As I continued reading the book I was amazed over and over again at the sheer amount of research and the amount of talent it took to put all these facts into a cohesive and very entertaining story!!I wholeheartedly recommend this book!!!!!! Five stars to the story, itself. Five stars to the author. Five stars to Theodore Roosevelt. My only regret is I was given the option of just five stars.

This book has been very helpful for me as an OTS

If you are currently studying to be a COTA, I would recommend this book. It has helped me tremendously on my second year, it has different diagnosis and intervention planning.

Honestly.. its not formatted to be reader friendly. All the information in this book can easily be found in Trombly & Radomski.. the OT version of the Treatment Bible in my opinion.
